Triple H has now 'confirmed' Roman Reigns' next championship bout.
Triple H has now 'certified' Roman Reigns' next match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Triple H has confirmed Roman Reigns' next Universal Championship match.
Unless something significant changes, Roman Reigns is expected to miss Backlash in Puerto Rico on May 6.
However, just three weeks later, on May 27, Roman will compete at WWE Night of Champions, according to reports.
When is Roman Reigns's next championship bout?
Roman was last seen at WrestleMania 39, where he successfully defended his title against Cody Rhodes in the main event.
Many fans had anticipated that Triple H would select Cody to terminate Roman's near-one-thousand-day reign as WWE champion.
In reference to the 1000-day mark, Ringside News reports that Reigns' next title defence will take place on May 27 at Night of Champions.
A veteran member of the creative staff verified to us that Roman Reigns will be working the Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia. Roman Reigns will not be performing at the May 6th Backlash event in Puerto Rico. He will instead wait until May 27 to compete at Night of Champions in Jeddah.
At the time of writing, it is unknown who Roman will face in his next encounter, but it is widely believed that WWE will schedule a rematch between him and Cody.
In his absence, Cody and Brock Lesnar will headline Backlash on May 6, but fans will be thrilled to learn that Roman will be in action later that month.
